Announcement

ANNOUNCEMENT: After 6 years of hosting card challenges, our last challenge will be February 4, 2019. It is a special challenge following our very first challenge on February 4, 2013. We will be making cards using Sketch #1 by Denise Gray, the original creator of Cards in Envy. For this last challenge you will have two weeks to create a card following the sketch and share it here in the challenge post with a link to your blog post via Inlinkz. There will be no individual badges awarded for this challenge, rather, we will provide a FIRST CLASS FINAL CHALLENGE Badge for EVERYONE who participates in this last challenge. Thank you so much for 6 wonderful card crafting years! We hope you'll join us for this challenge. ~ Sandy & the CIE Designers

Hang Your Stocking With Care Card Challenge

Click >HERE< for The Spirit of Christmas Badge Winners!

Okay, so  here we are still in December and Christmas is fast approaching!  It's that time when, if we haven't already, we start to look for and hang our stockings for Santa to fill.  So our card challenge this time is "Hang Your Stocking with Care!"  We want to see your cards that feature a Christmas stocking  OR what you might find in your stocking. (Important! If your card does not have a stocking on it, please clarify in your blog post WHAT is on your card that could go in a stocking.)   Are you ready?   If so, take a look at what our CIE Designers have come up with to inspire you.  Click on the blog name by each Designer's name for more details about each card.

We'd love to see your "Hang Your Stocking with Care" card!

Here are a few reminders about our challenge requirements:
  • No lumpy, bumpy cards.  Elements on your card need to be relatively flat (no thicker than 1/4") so your card would fit in an envy (envelope) for mailing
  • Limit entries to 3 per challenge.
  • No Back Linking--cards must be posted to your blog or an online album during the challenge dates. If it was posted online BEFORE the beginning of our challenge, it cannot be linked.
  • Entry must be for the current theme.
  • Cards Only--NO TAGS

Additional rules can be found under the Challenge Guidelines tab at the top under our blog header.  Entries not following our rules and not for the current challenge theme will be deleted without notice or comment. We accept any size/shape of card BUT all cards must be flat enough to fit in an envy for mailing (no thicker than 1/4") which means no lumpy, bumpy embellishments.

Challenge ends Sunday, January 6, 2019  at 6:00 p.m. Central Time.

Our Designers will be voting on the cards after the challenge ends and the winners will be announced by Wednesday morning  following the close of the challenge.. We will have one FIRST CLASS which is the card that receives the most votes from the Designers and considered the best overall card for the theme.  The Designers will also pick one card as their personal favorite for an IN THE MAILBOX badge. That means we may have up to 10 In the Mailbox cards for a challenge.  We decided to go with this fun method as each Designer has their own unique style and preference.  Each chosen may grab one of our fun badges for their blog! The badges for the challenge will be in the winners post following the close of the challenge after all the Designer votes are in.  The winners will also be announced on our Facebook Page, so come Like us so you'll know quickly if you are a winner.

Thank you for sharing your card that is flat enough to mail in an envelope with us at Cards in Envy!

The Spirit of Christmas Card Challenge

Click >HERE< for the Santa Baby Card Challenge BADGE WINNERS!

Well the Christmas season (or month) is upon us now! To celebrate, our theme for this card challenge is "The Spirit of Christmas."  We'd love to see any style Christmas card and it can be any color theme.  I bet there are a lot of fabulous Christmas cards being made and we hope you'll share them with us as long as they are flat enough to fit in an envelope for mailing. Please no thick bows, buttons, flowers etc.

And just in case you need some inspiration, the Cards in Envy Designers have created a wonderful lineup of Christmas cards.  If you want more details about each card, click on the blog name link by each designers' name.

We are sad to announce that Nancy had to leave to team. She is the mother of twin toddlers and at this time her personal life is a bit...well, overwhelming.  We wish her the best of luck!  We will be continuing with just nine CIE designers and will be having another announcement with our first January card challenge in 2019.

Here's our beautiful CIE Designer Christmas cards...
