Feeling Sketchy Card Challenge

Click >HERE< for the One Layer Badge Winners!

Hello and welcome to our third Monday of the month card challenge! This time our theme is "Feeling Sketchy"  which means we want to see a card you create with your favorite sketch and if you can, please share the link to the sketch in your blog post.  Remember, your card must be flat enough to fit in an envelope for mailing.

To inspire you and to share their favorite card sketch, the CIE designers have created these fabulous cards.  For more info about their card creation and a link to the card sketch that they used, just click on their blog link by their name.

  • Limit entries to 3 per challenge.
  • No Back Linking--cards must be posted to your blog or an online album during the challenge dates. If it was posted online BEFORE the beginning of our challenge, it cannot be linked.
  • Entry must be for the current theme.

We accept any size/shape of card BUT all cards must be flat enough to fit in an envy for mailing (no thicker than 1/4") which means no lumpy, bumpy embellishments. Challenge ends Sunday June 3, 2018  at 6:00 p.m. Central Daylight Savings Time.

Our Designers will be voting on the cards after the challenge ends and the winners will be announced by Wednesday morning  following the close of the challenge.. We will have one FIRST CLASS which is the card that receives the most votes from the Designers and considered the best overall card for the theme.  The Designers will also pick one card as their personal favorite for an IN THE MAILBOX badge. That means we may have up to 10 In the Mailbox cards for a challenge.  We decided to go with this fun method as each Designer has their own unique style and preference.  Each chosen may grab one of our fun badges for their blog! The badges for the challenge will be in the winners post following the close of the challenge after all the Designer votes are in.  The winners will also be announced on our Facebook Page, so come Like us so you'll know quickly if you are a winner.

Thank you for sharing your card that is flat enough to mail in an envelope with us at Cards in Envy!

One Layer Card Challenge!

Click >HERE< for the badge winners for the It's Birthday Party Card Challenge

Hello! It's the first Monday of the month of May and that means it's time for a new Cards in Envy card challenge!  This time we are looking for ONE LAYER cards.  Pretty simple.  Use only one layer of paper for your card (the base is not considered a layer unless you want it to be).  Remember your card must be flat enough to fit in an envelope for mailing.  It can be any size and any shape but no thick flowers, buttons or other embellishments.

To help you get ideas,  check out our Cards in Envy Designer One Layer cards!  More details on each card can be found on their own blogs by clicking on the link by each designer's name.

Lisa added some stamping to a kraft cardstock base.
She cut a frame using red paper and placed it on top which gives the illusion of more than one layer but it is just one layer with the frame and the base.

Wendi got a new job and to settle in, she needed to take a break from this challenge.  She'll be back next time.
