Rev it Up! Challenge

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT!  The designers have voted and their favorite card for the Rev It Up! Challenge is #4 Sherry Hickey! Sherry will receive our FIRST IN CLASS badge! Congratulations Sherry!  The other 3 entries for this challenge will all receive the IN THE MAILBOX BADGE! Thanks so much for joining in on this challenge with us.  Due to a mix-up during moving to a new blog from Feline Playful to Paper Playful, our challenge was not listed so we ended up fewer entries for this challenge but that's okay.  We are back on the Paper Playful Lists and we loved the cards that did enter this challenge! Again, Thank you to each of you!
~Sandy

Let's REV IT UP!  For this challenge we'd like to see your A2 (4.25" x5.5") card creations that feature things with motors that one can "rev up." Think motorcycles, cars, airplanes, helicopters etc.  Any transportation type vehicle that has a motor that revs up.  We can't wait to see what you create and share!

Remember, your card needs to be relatively flat (no lumpy, bumpy embellishments, flowers, buttons etc.) The total thickness of your  card and the envelope should be no more than 1/4" so it will fit through the USA post office guide, if it's thicker than that, it will cost extra postage and will not be a card for our Cards in Envy challenge.

With our first challenge in August, comes the end of our first 6 months as a challenge blog! I want to thank everyone who visits our blog, follows, likes us on Facebook and/or participates in our challenges! We are so happy to have you join us.  It is also the end of our first term for our Designers and a few will be leaving us to design for other challenges or to take a break to spend time with family or focus on their personal life. With this post, we are saying goodbye to Cissy, Katie,  Lisa B and Tanya.  We will miss them but are happy to have new Designers in our family--Debbie , Lisa M. and Wendi joined us in July and with this challenge we welcome Kristie!  Please visit their blogs and let them know you were there.

And now, let's see what our designers have found that will REV IT UP!

Beep, beep! How about a shopping trip in a pickup truck?  Danie created this fabulous birthday card with bright colors and an adorable city scene!

Ptttttt, ptttttt! Debbie wishes a Happy Birthday with this cute helicopter that's flying by!

Toot, toot!  Denise created a simple CAS card with lots of impact and a vintage blue pickup. Any man would be thrilled with this card!

Jingle, jingle! It's the chime and melody of an ice cream truck!  Karen created this super fun and yummy card wishing a Happy Birthday!

Honk, honk! Kristie's bright and fun card lets someone know that they "make the road of life more Fun!"

Vroom, vroom!  Lisa's super cute race car card is zipping by to wish a Happy Birthday 2 U!

Whirrrr, Whirrrr!  While not reving it up as fast as the others, it certainly can when it needs too!  Marilyn's adorable yellow submarine sends a greeting of "Best Fishes!"

Zoom, zoom!  Sandy's red hot race car revs by with a special "you make my heart race" sentiment for a loved one!
Sandy's Crafty Creations  (Challenge Host)

Swoosh, Swoosh!   Wendi's Happy Birthday card covers the sky with a cute helicopter and fast moving jets!

Layers, layers, layers.  We're looking for layers!

Hello, it's time for a new challenge!  For this one we'd like to see your A2 (4.25"x5.5") card creations that have paper LAYERS!  Remember, that your card needs to be relatively flat (no lumpy, bumpy embellishments, flowers, buttons etc.)  so be careful with using too many layers, but you can use as many layers as you'd like as long it still fits in an envy!   Total thickness of the card and envelope should be no more than 1/4" so it will fit through the post office guide, if it's thicker than that,  it will cost extra postage and will not be a card for our Cards in Envy challenge.

For this challenge we have a Guest Designer!  Kristie Marcotte of The Best Things in Life are Pink!   Kristie will officially be joining as a full time designer in August so watch for her photo and bio here on the blog after the first.  Here's Kristie's card featuring LAYERS to inspire you in this challenge. Kristie, we're thrilled to have you joining us!  Your card is adorable and perfect  for Cards in Envy!

And now, more inspiring  cards with paper LAYERS by our Cards in Envy Designers!

Denise (Scrappy D's House of Cards)
Please note: Denise's card is a square and was made before the challenge rule of no square cards was added to our rules. Her card does fit in a regular size envelope for mailing in the USA. In the future, all designer cards for Cards in Envy will be the A2 size to avoid confusion with our challengers.

Fabulous cards! Be sure to visit our Designers and let them know you love their cards!

And now, a bit of info about our challenge:  The challenge starts today, Monday, July 15th  at 12:00 a.m. Central Time and ends August 4th  at 11:55 p.m. Central Time.  After the challenge ends,  the Designers will pick one card  as the "First Class" Winner for best all around card and three or more cards will be chosen as "In the Mailbox" for runners up.  All "winners' will be awarded one of ourcute Cards in Envy badges to proudly display on their own blog.  Please limit your entries to 3 per challenge.

We have deleted a few entries that did not follow our guidelines. Please note we do not accept square cards for our challenges and no lumpy bumpy flowers or buttons etc.  Thank you!

~Sandy and the Cards in Envy Designers

Hello and welcome to a new challenge here on Cards in Envy!  This time we have another Sketch challenge for you.  The sketches for our challenges have all been created by one of our Designers, Denise, but she's had to cut back on some of her duties due to her job and other challenges so this will be our last sketch challenge.  Starting in August all of our challenges will be themed but if you love sketches, I will be posting sketches on our Cards in Envy Facebook page now and then so be sure to go like us so you'll see the sketches and other fun stuff on your newsfeed.

I also want to share some Cards in Envy Designer changes.  First, Andrea had to leave us early because of her health and needing to spend more time with family and to take better care of herself.  We will miss her!  Also, July is the last month for Cissy, Lisa B. and Katie.  Their 6 month term is finished the end of July and they have each decided they need to focus on other things for now.  We will miss them too! But that brings us to three new Designers who have joined us and while officially they were to start in August, I just couldn't wait and went ahead and brought them on board now.  You've already seen their work in challenges and as June Guest Designers.  Please welcome Wendi, Debbie and Lisa M. to Cards in Envy!  I encourage you to visit each of our Designers' blogs and leave them some comment love.  And now on with their fabulous card creations following Sketch #6.  All of the cards are A2 size (4.25" x 5.5") and will fit in an envelope with regular first class postage!

And now it is your turn to create a card following Denise's Sketch #6.

The challenge starts today, Monday, July 1st  at 12:00 a.m. Central Time and ends July 14th at 11:55 p.m. Central Time.  After the challenge ends,  the Designers will pick one card  as the "First Class" Winner for best all around card and three or more cards will be chosen as "In the Mailbox" for runners up.  All "winners' will be awarded one of our new Cards in Envy badges to proudly display on their own blog.

Please create and share  A2 (4.25" x 5.5") cards that fit  in an envelope with no lumpy bumpy flowers, buttons or embellishments.

Hello and welcome to another challenge at Cards in Envy!  This time we challenge you to use this sketch by one of our Designers, Denise Gray. Please create an A2 (4.25" x 5.5") card that fits in an envelope with no lumpy bumpy flowers, buttons or embellishments.  For more details about the cards we want for our challenges, please check out our Challenge Guidelines.

Our Designers have created some fabulous cards with this sketch to inspire you!

Andrea (Permission to Create)

Now it's your turn to inspire us!  We are so happy when you share your fabulous card creations with us at Cards in Envy!  We wish EVERYONE could be a winner but part of the fun in a challenge is the competition AND the recognition!  Our challenge focuses on the recognition rather than prizes and that is why you see no sponsors or prizes for our challenges.  We now have two new challenge recognition badges for the winners of our challenges!
  • FIRST CLASS!  There will be only ONE person bestowed this honor which represents the Designer's Top Pick for Best Over All Card.
  • IN THE MAILBOX!  There will be THREE or more  awarded this badge as the Designer's Favorites or Runners Up to the First Class Winner.
So....will you be First Class?  Or In The Mailbox?  We can't wait to find out!

One last thing, you may have noticed it looks a little bit different here at Cards in Envy--new header, new background, new challenge badge, new winner badges.  That's because Denise, one of our Co-Hosts, has had to step down as a challenge host (don't worry, she's still designing for us) and has handed the reins over to me.  I decided that along with the change over to a single host that I would also change the look of the blog.  I hope you like it and I look forward to leading you and my fabulous designers in some fun challenges.  Thank you for joining us here at Cards in Envy!

~Sandy

P.S. We're on Facebook! Come find us  at "Cards in Envy" and like our page!  We have challenge sneak peeks, weekly card quotes/sentiments and tips/discussions. Plus you can share your photos of cards you create that fit in and "Envy!"  We'd love to have you join us!
