March 4th Sketch #2 Challenge

Sorry for the delay ... I've been dealing with a cranky computer.
The winner of our March 4th Sketch #2 challenge is:
It's a tie between #8 Jan Tatomir and #10 Three Trees!!
Congratulations!  Both of you, please go to the winners tab and pick up your Cards in Envy Winner's Button!

The Top Three  are (in no particular order):
  #1 Kristie M
#11 Ellen Parker
#13 Patricia Hays
Congratulations! Please pick up your "Top 3" Button and display it proudly on your blogs.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this challenge.  It was a difficult decision, as all the entries were fabulous!  We look forward to seeing you all in our Paper Strips Instead of Ribbon Challenge.

Welcome to our 2nd Sketch Challenge.  For this challenge we'll be using Cards in Envy Sketch #2. I have made a basic "no frills" sketch so everyone feels comfortable playing along.  Please feel free to interpret the sketch in any way you wish as long as we can still see the basics of the sketch in your finished design.

You are free to use any products as long as your card fits in an envelope for regular first class postage (no extra stamps allowed for mailing on these cards--if extra postage or special packaging is required it's not a Card in Envy card).  We have been asked if a 5x5 card is eligible and the answer is yes.  A 5x5 will fit into a regular 5x7 greeting card envelope.  It is unfortunate though that 6x6 cards are not eligible due to their size, which requires additional postage.

So without further delay, I'd like to share with you all the beautiful inspiration cards created by our Design Team:

Sandy (co-host)

 Denise (co-host)

We'd love to see your card creations using the Cards in Envy Sketch #2.
Winners will be eligible for a Cards in Envy Blog Button.
This challenge ends March 17th.
Remember all cards linked must be flat to fit in an envelope.
No lumpy, bumpy embellishments please.
6x6 Cards are NOT Eligible
Thank you!  Denise

Hello and Welcome Everyone!  Thank you for joining us for our very first ~ Cards in Envy ~ Challenge!  We're a new challenge blog that's all about creating handmade cards that will fit into regular envelopes ... hence the name "Cards in Envy".  We all know we can stuff all kinds of bumpy, lumpy cards loaded with ribbons, buttons and bows into an envelope, flatten it out the best we can, throw a stamp or two on it and cross our fingers that it goes through the mail.  Here at Cards in Envy we're uncrossing our fingers because we KNOW our cards will go through the mail and without additional postage!

Our challenge will alternate between sketches and themes.  The first Monday of each month I (Denise) will be posting a simple "Sketch" challenge.  You can interpret the sketch any way you wish as long as we can see the original design in your finished card.  The third Monday of each month, my co-host (Sandy) will be posting a "Theme" challenge.  In all challenges you MUST create a card that is no thicker than 1/4 inch thick. You cannot use embellishments that are thicker than a standard shirt button.  Sandy has posted the guidelines on the "How to Play" tab above; we invite you to take a moment or two to review them.

For our first "Sketch" challenge you are welcome to use any image, stamp, cutting machine, punch, die cut, color and embellishments ... just create an "Envy Friendly" card that follows this sketch:

Winners will receive a Cards in Envy Blog Button.
